Millennium & Odyssey Reopen for 2007

Millennium & Odyssey Reopen for 2007

Both Millennium and Odyssey were open during the Easter weekend and being put through their paces. Both trains were reinstalled last week after the long winter, after a series of dry runs both coasters were ready for the busy weekend. No downtime was experienced and both remained open to the public throughout the weekend.

Although the park has been open for a few weeks already without these coasters running this is still a big improvement in comparison with 2006. Only Millennium Coaster ran last Easter, Odyssey did not reopen for the season until late May! This is an indication that the problems with the ride have finally been ironed out. The ride also managed to run in very high winds on Easter Sunday, something it has always been incapable of.

The same cannot be said for Absolutely Insane however, which curiously looks exactly the same as it did during the winter. Even more curious - the carriage wasn't removed for the off season as it has been in all previous years. Volcanic Impact followed suit and also failed to open. Both of these rides are expected to open before May.

Changes to Opening Times

Fantasy Island have made several alterations to the 2007 opening times. The first notable change is that the entire park will be open for 2 weeks over Easter from the 31st March to the 15th April. Originally the park didn't plan on opening until Good Friday. However, we can confirm that until the Easter weekend the rides will close at around 3pm.

The second change to the opening times is that the park will not open daily until May the 5th. As opposed to the 28th of April as originally planned. From the 16th of April to the 4th of May the park will open weekends only.

No Coasters For the 2nd Week Running

Both Jubilee Odyssey and Millennium Coaster have once again failed to open this weekend, after also being down last weekend. Amazing Confusion and Absolutely Insane have also been closed this weekend. All four of these rides have yet to reopen for 2007. However, it appears that the trains are now beginning to be reinstalled to the coasters so there is a high possibility that one or both will be running next weekend.

Fantasy Island Reopens for 2007!

Today Fantasy Island opened its gates for a new season - 2007, which is the parks 12th season. No new attractions this season, however, construction on many new attractions will begin in the Autum! The park is now open weekends only until April when it will reopen daily. Please note only minimal ride attractions are expected to open until around Easter. Neither of the coasters are expected to be open this weekend or next weekend since trains for both Millennium and Odyssey were in pieces in the warehouse just 2 weeks ago.

2007 Opening Times

The 2007 opening times have now officially been released by Fantasy Island. The season will start as of March 17th 2007: on a weekends only basis. The park will open daily during the Easter week, with weekends only to follow this from the 16th to 27th of April. Daily operation will take place from here on until the season end.

The Fantasy Island Market will open its gates on the 3rd of March weekends only, and then daily from April 1st.

This years opening of the rides has been moved several weeks forward, but still manages to open before many other parks such as Alton Towers. Hopefully the extra few weeks will give them time to prepare the rides for the new season, and prevent a repeat of last year’s double Odyssey rollback. Let the waiting continue.
