IQ Exclusive: 13 Year Old Brochure!

At Island Quest we're very lucky that we have various people who contribute to both our website and forum community.

Recently we've even seen Fantasy Island contribute towards Island Quest; offering free wristbands to Island Quest Memebers in return for Ride Descriptions for the park's website!

Island Quest have recently been in contact with WGH who manufactured several rides at the park including Rhombus Rocket, Fantasea Flume and Magical Seaquarium as well as several other rides.

WGH have provided Island Quest with a copy of a brochure which is over 13 years old and features information and pictures on all these rides!

It's been all systems go here at Island Quest the last few weeks! The Island Quest Team have been working hard behind the scenes to get the rest of the website on-line - and it's now all live!

One of the biggest changes is that every ride at the park now has it's own dedicated page here on Island Quest. A list of the ride pages is below.

Jubilee Odyssey, Millennium Roller Coaster, Absolutely Insane, Volcanic Impact, Amazing Confusion and The BEAST.

Family Rides

That's not all though; we've also added a page featuring The Market which includes information about the market as well as some pictures! The Crazy Golf and Grand Prix Go Karts also have their very own pages!

New for 2009 to IslandQuest.co.uk

We have added a brand new section to the Island Quest for 2009! The Nearby Attractions page offers information on a whole range of attractions just a stones throw away from Fantasy Island such as Botton's Pleasure Beach Skegness and Skegness Pier! We will add other attractions throughout the course of 2009!

That's not all though! Other updates across the Island Quest website include:

Park Maps: Parks Maps dating back as far as the 1995 season have now been uploaded to Island Quest and are available over on the Parks Maps page.

What's New: Whats New section features all highlights of Whats New this season at Fantasy Island. The page has been update accordingly for 2009!

We have also added a brand new Fantasy Island Reviews section to the forums. Allowing members to review all the rides at the park!

News for April Fools

News for April Fools

As you may have noticed a story regarding a shark being spotted off the coast of Ingoldmells this morning, we'd like to reassure you that this was, in fact, an April Fools prank. Furthermore, there are currently no plans that we are aware of to build a Sea Life centre in nearby Skegness.

Merry Christmas 2008

Merry Christmas 2008

Merry Christmas.

What a year it's been for both Island Quest and Fantasy Island!

Although we have seen no new major attractions added to the park this year I would go as far as saying that this has been the most important year for the park yet.

The year kicked off with the Fantasy Island Caravan park being stripped of the very assets which make it a caravan park! Along with some illegal digging in the car park! What about the Theme Park though? Well not much has happened really?

McDonalds closed, and Absolutely Insane suffered more downtime than a submarine.

Yet I still claim that this is the most important year for the park? Yes I do.

This year we've seen the new owners slowly start to dip their feet into the water. We've seen the introduction of Jubilee Tokens priced at 3 and we've also seen other special offers across the park. We are also beginning to learn more through the grapevine for the desire for their latest investment within Ingoldmells to be turned into a Family Resort.

The only planning applications appear to be for expansion of the Eastgate market site. However, the ideas are there, the financial backing is there as well as the determination and drive to improve the park and it's ride selection.

For the first time, the park also held a public consultation where members of the Ingoldmells community were invited on-site to learn about the future of the development, which for many over looks their back garden.

The park also stayed open longer than normal towards the end of the season, signalling and hinting towards a 365 day season.

What's in store for 2009? We simply do not know. Wristbands seem high on the agenda at the park which can only be a good thing.

Hopefully we'll start to see some sort of long term development plan put in place for the park, as without it, it doesn't have a future.
