Beast Reopens

Beast Reopens

Beast has finally reopened today, after a staggering ten weeks of downtime during the busiest period of the year. This amount of downtime will have severely impacted the profit for the park this year; particularly considering the expense of maintenance work.

It was way back in June when maintenance were seen to be working on the ride. By the end of July, the ride had already been stripped down for a number of weeks; awaiting a replacement main bearing for the main arm; a part which allegedly costs in the region of 30,000. Similar work was carried out last year on Beast, as the gondola bearing had to be replaced; but reopened after only a week of downtime.

The Mondial top scan was seen testing on Thursday and has since reopened to the public.

Beast Remains Closed for Summer?

Beast Remains Closed for Summer?

Beast unfortunately remains unavailable after over six weeks of downtime. Currently, the ride is standing without the ride platform or arms in sight; which are residing inside the warehouse. Nevertheless, the forums are rife with discussion as to the possible cause. Allegedly, the main bearing within the arm of the Mondial ride has worn. This has supposedly been sent away to be repaired or replaced. The downtime now depends solely on the availability of the part; which if it has to be manufactured could be a lengthy process; leaving the ride closed throughout the busiest time of the year. As ever, get the very latest information on the IQ forums.

Beast Downtime

Beast Downtime

Beast has been experiencing a sufficient amount of downtime over the last week. The maintenance team were spotted on the ride with a cherry picker on Saturday June 21st. Nonetheless, the gondolas were recovered and entrance and exit signs were removed before the maintenance team left the ride in its closed state. The ride has remained closed since then, and whilst it's unknown what is causing the problem it is assumed that they are waiting on a part for the ride before it can be fixed. Check out the thread on the forums for periodical updates.

In related news, Jubilee Odyssey and Amazing Confusion have only been opening at weekends since spring half term. This is due to a noticeable lack of people in the area. From next month, it's expected that both rides will reopen during the weekdays of the main summer season. It's unknown whether the extended opening times will afect the lowered price of Jubilee tokens as we progress into the summer season.
