Fantasy Island have teamed up with Deano's Pro Soccer Academy to offer children the chance to perfect their football skills this summer. The Fantasy Football events will take place on several weekends in July and August, and will allow children to play a supervised game of football. Before they think it's all over, they'll be able to head off to Fantasy Island with their unlimited rides wristband.
The football sessions will be held in the morning between 9.15am and 2pm at Swifts JFC Playing Fields, School Lane, Ingoldmells. The sessions priced at £25 for one day, or £45 for both Saturday and Sunday sessions; the price includes the cost of the Fantasy Island wristband as well as the football session. Children are required to bring their own football equipment, boots/trainers, sun cream/rain jacket and a lunch time snack. More information can be found at Deano's Pro Soccer, as well as the ability to book sessions.
On Friday night, the strobes on Odyssey's lift hill were seen illuminated for the first time in over two years. The lighting is fitted to most of the lift hill cat walk, and can be programmed to display a variety of sequences; including a chase effect as witnessed on Friday evening.
A 12 hole crazy golf course has now opened in the heart of the Fantasy Island Market, situated beside the Grand Prix Go Karts and beneath the sidewinder and first helix of Millennium Roller Coaster. Compared to other mini golf courses in Skegness, the course has very little in the way of themeing. It is currently £3 for adults/£2 for children per round, and there's currently a buy one round get another free promotion running if you pick up a leaflet at the main sales desk in the pyramid.
Jubilee Odyssey's still yet to reopen for the 2009 season. A number of problems have developed since testing in March, including stalling on the cobra roll, and the lift hill motor breaking soon after. The latter required the lift hill motor to be sent back to Vekoma, as parts aren't readily available in this country, and is due back on Wednesday. Unfortunately, this means that the ride will remain closed over the May Day Bank Holiday weekend, with a glimmer of hope of reopening on the 9th May.
In related news, Volcanic Impact and Absolutely Insane are expected to reopen for the Spring half term.
