Steel Coaster Poll 2008 Results

The polls for Mitch Hawker's steel coaster poll closed at the beginning of the month, the votes have been counted and the results are in. Some good news emerges from this years poll as Odyssey has risen to #177 from #209 last year. However this year's result is still lower than in the 2006 poll in which Odyssey was ranked at #130. Millennium only managed to rise up the poll by one place, but now comes just behind Pepsi Max Big One.

Park Reveal Future Plans

Park Reveal Future Plans

Conduit Leisure revealed big plans for the resort at the public meeting held on Saturday. Among those plans were to include two hotels, holiday homes, concert arena (The Bowl), casino, 'park and ride' system as well as the market extension. Based on conceptual designs on display at the meeting, it's perceived that one of the hotels could be situated on the site of Mrs M's fish and chip restaurant and Fantasy Mouse.

Investment for new rides won't happen for a few years whilst these plans are still afloat. However, the future of the rides complex at the park is said to be secure, although it was said that some smaller scale rides might begin to operate on a rotational basis. The potential for a wrist band scheme looks even stronger as it's speculated that it could be introduced as soon as the beginning of next season. A meeting is said to be taking place this week as they confirmed that they are looking at two different types of pricing system.

The market expansion is subject to planning permission, but at this stage no planning application has been submitted for the other long term projects.
